Traveling: Puerto Escondido

From Zipolite you can reach PUERTO ESCONDIDO by the car or bus through the paved 75 km long main coast road in about an hour. Puerto Escondido is especially known for its surf community and its international contests in november and Semana Santa. During these events, the worlds best surfers meet at playa Zicatela. But the town has more to offer: A nice pedestrian area with reastaurants, cafes and shops and a big market in the old part of the town.

Puerto Escondido is also the starting point for boat trips in the beautiful mangroove lagoons of Maniltepec and Chacahua or to the waterfalls in the hills around Puerto Escondido.

The beautiful beach of Chacahua is a recommendation for people seeking a quiet and lonely beach.
